On June 25, 2026, as part of the AFIC Leadership Meeting 2026 held in Hanoi from June 25 to 27, 2026, the AFIC Leadership Meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh, President of AFIC for the 2026–2028 term. The meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of AFIC member associations across the ASEAN region. It served as an important platform for exchanging strategic directions and strengthening coordination among members in the new term.

During the meeting, delegates focused on discussing AFIC’s key cooperation priorities for the coming period, including promoting connectivity within the ASEAN furniture supply chain, enhancing collaboration among member associations, expanding business networking opportunities, and leveraging regional trade promotion platforms. The discussions also emphasized the need to strengthen the overall competitiveness of the ASEAN wood and furniture industry amid continued fluctuations in the global market and increasingly stringent requirements for transparency, traceability, and sustainable development.

In a spirit of openness, cooperation, and shared responsibility, the meeting reaffirmed Vietnam’s coordinating role during its AFIC Presidency, while further consolidating the foundation for intra-regional cooperation and the practical implementation of joint initiatives. This marks an important step for AFIC to continue strengthening regional connectivity, promoting trade cooperation, and enhancing the position of the ASEAN furniture industry in the international market.
