Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City

Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA) was established as a Non-Governmental Organization and volunteer Association in 1991. HAWA recently has nearly 400 company members – operating in the following fields:

Wood processing: furniture (indoor and outdoor) (51%)
Handicraft: bamboo, rattan, water hyacinth, lacquer ware, fine art, pottery, porcelain (22%)
Trade: timber, machinery, varnish, hardware (22%)
Service provider (5%)
HAWA annually organize 2 exhibitions / trade fairs: Vifa Home (for domestic market) and Vifa Expo (for international exporting market). 2017 will be the first year of Vietnam WoodMac exhibition – a wood machinery and material exhibition organized by HAWA.

HAWA are also the organizer of Hoa Mai Competition (a furniture design competition) and Hoa Sen Award (a souvenir / gift design award), those two are organized with the desire of honoring and promoting creativity in design of furniture and handicraft industry.
