On April 2nd, AFIC came together to celebrate the ASEAN Furniture Design Award 2025 at STYLE Bangkok 2025, highlighting creativity, sustainability, and the next generation of design leaders.
The afternoon began with an opening speech by Mr. Dhanakorn Kasetrsuwan, Chairman of AFIC, who also presented tokens of appreciation to the 11 esteemed judges for their dedication and expertise.
This was followed by a panel discussion with the top five young designer finalists representing:
✨ Ms. Vonny Kornellya “Sulur Renjana” from Indonesia
✨ Ms. Deya Tsyna Saco from Philippines – “Amara Bench”
✨ Mr. Raihan Syahmi from Singapore – “Heritage 60 Stool”
✨ Mr. Supakorn Chanrorun from Thailand – “Harmony Chair”
✨ Ms. Thahn Huyên Trân from Vietnam – “Cyclo Chair”
Each finalist shared their inspirations, creative processes, and aspirations to shape a more sustainable future through design.
The event also featured a special talk on “Sustainable by Design” by Ms. Wikkie Netten, APAC Marketing Manager of PEFC, offering valuable insights into how sustainability can be embedded throughout the design journey.
To conclude the session, the top five finalists received certificates from Mr. Thanun Ounkomol, Chairman of ASEAN Furniture Design Award 2025, who delivered closing remarks encouraging continued innovation and cross-cultural collaboration.
